We are praising GOD for all that He has done in the first 4 weeks of Remnant Summer Day Camp in the tribe of Gad!! Can you believe camp is half way over already? It’s amazing how fast time has gone by! But it’s even more amazing how much we all have grown more IN LOVE with GOD!! There is much fruit in the hearts and actions of these 3rd/4th grade girls since we began!We are continuing to learn how to strengthen our connection with God Almighty…through the authorities above us and through our love for others. Last week in our workbook, we reinforced what it looks like to be a good friend, putting into practice Matthew 7:12 – “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.” It’s obvious these sweet girls have this kind of love because they are so quick to obey and to show love to everyone around them!
We had the HUGE blessing last week of getting the hear from Mrs. Elizabeth Hannah two times!! She shared with us about her relationship with God and things she has learned from her mother, Gwen Shamblin, over the years that we can all put into practice! All of us were so encouraged to hear from her!! Also, we are continuing to study different women from the Bible. Last week, we read the book of Esther and were inspired by her example of total reverence and beautiful humility. These precious girls are putting God’s word into their hearts and into their actions by working on memorizing Psalm 15, Philippians 4:4-9, Galatians 5:22-23, I Corinthians 13, and now Colossians 3:1-17.
If that were not enough, we also had the opportunity to learn about doves…some of God’s amazing creatures… from Ms. Cat Ross and Mrs. Susan Abelt! Wow! Also, the girls were honored to get to recite Scripture for the weekly webcast, count our blessings and answered prayers, bake some cookies and serve the sweet Junior Counselors, do some crafts, learn to weave, play some games, swim in the pool, decorate the ballet room, and even squeeze in a pizza party day! God is so AMAZING! These few short weeks have been tremendously blessed!! We pray that as we continue to spend these last few weeks together, that we will ALL have more of the characteristics of Christ and be even more connected to our Awesome God!!!
