Our third week of camp has wrapped up. We studied authority this week and continued to practice love. We have had loads fun with our out of town guests and our wonderful Junior Counselors! God has been good to Zebulun and we are grateful to Him for answered prayers and blessings!
Week 3 in the workbook is focused on authority so we have been working on understanding honoring authorities better. The verse we memorized this week is: Ephesians 6:1-3 “Children obey your parents in The Lord for this is right. “Honor your father and mother” – which is the first commandment with a promise – “that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.” We read 1Samuel 1 & 3 and learned about Hannah giving up her child to be raised in the Temple and how God called Samuel. During group devotions we heard more from Genesis and watched a teaching from Mrs. Gwen that was filmed last year.
In an effort to continue in love, our workbook theme from week 2, we have made stars with each out of town girls name on it, so we can remember each girl for shout outs. If you can watch the webcast on Tuesdays at 1:30 you will see the adorable Zebulun girls line up to wave at their friends, not to mention the terrific live music we had this week from Michael Shamblin and David Martin. We have also been putting together care packages for the girls. In each envelope we are working on placing letters, pictures, hand made bracelets. The girls made chocolate chip cookies, recited scriptures and gave hugs to the tribe of Manasseh. To see these little girls love on the big boys was adorable!
We were so blessed to have Aviana with us for a few weeks and sad to say good bye on her last day at camp. We all made a card for her. This week we have Gracelynn and Kimber with us so we can get to know them better and love on them. Hannah from Texas is a junior counselor with Zebulun and we all love her very much! Give her a hug! We have some terrific, knock it out of the park, JC’s this year! Today we give a special thanks out to Jacki and Carlie for being loving, patient, peaceful, joyful, and consistent with sunscreen!
