The Tribe of Zebulun, 2nd grade girls, had a wonderful first week of Summer Day Camp. The 19 girls in yellow hair bows have been blessed with answered prayers, beautiful devotions, peaceful quiet time, fun games, swimming and more! We are all so excited to be in God’s house and working together peacefully and productively. We all praise God for Remnant Fellowship and Summer Day Camp and look forward to growing in the Characteristics of Christ.
On Tuesday we prayed for the weather to clear for swim and slip and slide time and God blessed us with an answered prayer of clear weather for the afternoon. Our fabulous Characteristics of Christ workbook has a place for us to write answered prayers so we logged it along with other answered prayers. We prayed for out of town saints, our leaders, the Prison Ministry, our parents and to have more fruit of God’s Spirit in our lives.
Mrs. Gwen visited us at camp this week, prayed with us, posed for pictures and let us gently hug her. Mrs. Beth read Genesis to us and the Tribe of Asher recited scriptures and showed us how a princess glorifies God. The Camp Kick off talk was replayed during Devo this week. It was such a blessing to hear that inspiring instruction from Gwen again. At quiet time the girls read the Bible on their own and answered questions in their workbook. We prayed together and each girl on her own. We focused on prayer and memorized 1 Thessalonians 5:16 – 18…. “Be joyful always, pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
Outdoors we played partner chase, red rover, sharks and minnows and spent time on the swing sets. The girls even enjoyed collecting the shells out of the gravel by the swings. Everything is a treasure from God! On rainy days we played Simon Says (Check Your Heart), a common game slightly altered so the girls are responsible for calling them selves out when they make a mistake. The Guinness World Record judge will surely be here to measure the World’s Longest Slip n Slide next week. Every girl will be an expert slider by the end of summer. The Camp Director has provided us with 3 pools this year and there is room for everyone to swim every day. AWESOME!
The Tribe of Asher is new to camp so our girls baked and decorated cookies under the direction of Mrs. Larissa and the Junior Counselors. There were hugs and welcomes as we delivered the cookies to these young campers. The sweet Tribe of Gad invited us to their room to have our nails painted. It was a lovely time of fellowship and pampering for our girls. We were blessed by their kindness and patience. Several out of town girls will be getting letters from our girls soon! Watch your mailbox.
This is a joyful group of girls who want to do God’s will! We practiced continual prayer and appreciation of God in every situation. This was a beautiful, active week with lots of young saints serving God and loving Him in unison. Please pray for Mrs. Donna, Mrs. Larissa and all our Junior Counselors as we teach The Characteristics of Christ to our girls this summer.
Awesome! Updates are so great! Our little Zebulun camper has had so much fun everyday that its hard for her to recall all the awesomeness that has happened in one day (lol)! Its good to have some of parts filled in that we missed…Thank you so much camp councillors!!!
