This was such a busy week! Some highlights from Week 6:
We went through the Fruits of the Spirit with them and categorized them into the fruit that they exhibited the most of – then the kids all did shout-outs with the other children that had the same fruit! Our boys all exhibit more than one of the fruits, for some it was hard to decide, but it was so fun to talk about it!
Ms Leona Hagans came and spent a day with us, she taught us some German and gave a great talk to the boys about the prison ministry. We learned that we can pray more for them, we can write them cards, and send them pictures that we have drawn… Much encouragement to do that!
We had a few dance lessons this week, the kids learned the dances to “Focus Up”, “Jump Up”, “Daughters of Jerusalem” and “Zion Celebration”. Our tribe was partnered with the middle school girls for “Daughters of Jerusalem” and from now on can always have a partner at festivals and weddings! They did such a great job paying attention and really trying so hard – Our boys are GREAT dancers! I will be looking for them out on the floor at Feast of Harvest ☺
So glad that we all got to hear the message again from our Webcasted Devo – the boys are doing so well at to sitting quietly and listening when that is what is asked of us. Gwen’s charge was as usual, so powerful! The boys also shared the scripture that we had memorized for the webcast and did a great job!
We also gave out quite a few “Tribe of Benjamin – Gold Star Awards” to boys who had earned 10 stars for wonderful behavior. We had kids who sat quietly, shared something without being asked, picked up trash around the temple, were good examples in behavior, were polite and helped us out and many other good deeds – Some boys are on the way to a second “Gold Star Award”!
We have LOVED this summer and LOVED getting to know your boys… Our Junior Counselors are incredible and have all grown so much in the fruits of the spirit as have we as Counselors! Thank you all for living out this message at home so these children can exhibit this BEAUTIFUL and PLENTIFUL fruit!
Looking forward to the last week and Love Love Love to you all!
