It was another great time of fellowship with the middle schoolers, elementary age, parents and siblings. This group of youth and adults has now grown to over 100; who are gathering to “devote [themselves] to the public reading of Scripture” (1 Tim 4:13) on Sabbath evenings.
The reading selection of 2 Timothy encouraged all with the themes of not being ashamed to live for God – have a desire to be popular with God over popular with friends – guard the good deposit of the teaching we get from God through Gwen Shamblin, and our other church leaders that are encouraging us how to live Godly and how to get your approval from God and not men. Several children got up and shared these and other thoughts from the Scriptures that touched their hearts.
This joyous group of youth and adults continued to spur each other on toward love and good deeds as they enjoyed a couple more hours of fellowship at the Connection Cafe – it was an encouraging evening of great food and Godly conversation and PuRe fun!!
